In support of DEC’s mission and institutional objectives, DEC has established educational advisory boards for each program or similar area of study offered. The purpose of each advisory board is to enhance and enrich the DEC program(s) for which it serves. Each advisory board meets at least once per year to review DEC’s curricula, program materials, equipment, facilities, and student achievement outcomes, as a means to provide DEC with an external review of its programs. The members of the boards are comprised of representatives from the employment community (including alumni), practitioners, and others from the field of education, who make recommendations and provide key information and materials on their areas of expertise. Advisory board members not only advise DEC on its programs, but they also support and advocate on behalf of the institution, ensuring that DEC continues to stay abreast and ahead of industry needs.
